Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Head Chef or a Senior Sous Chef looking to move to Head Chef level to join our dynamic team here at the multi award winning Whiski Rooms Restaurant & Bar on the Mound in Edinburgh Old Town.

This is a busy restaurant and you will have overall responsibility for the food offering, using local and seasonal produce, and ensuring brand standards are adhered to, maintained and developed with quality and consistency.

Joining our team, you will be in charge of the kitchen, training and motivating the team to deliver a high quality and efficient food and service. Working with fresh produce to the highest standards, you will be joining one of Edinburgh's leading independent hospitality companies with opportunities to develop.

Experience of being a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef is essential for this role and you will need to be a great manager with attention to detail in food preparation and service.

About You:



Have a passion for food, seasonality, and British Produce Experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant environment Have experience of managing costs from staff to suppliers Positive attitude, great leadership skills, work well under pressure

Head Chef Duties:



Managing and controlling budgets Cooking to a high standard with great presentation skills Recipe development Day-to-day management of the kitchen brigade Staff recruitment, training and development Managing Staff Rotas Managing food ordering, delivery, storage and cost control Ensuring the highest levels of compliance & kitchen hygiene Food preparation with attention to detail and efficient service Menu planning and development Computer literate in using Microsoft excel spreadsheets and word
