Job Description

The Waterside Kitchen and Bar are looking for a dynamic Head Chef to take the reigns and help push the business forward. A knowledge of sushi and asian cuisine would be beneficial as well as strong menu development skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Oversee food preparation and production processes to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes. Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining the restaurant's unique identity. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen. Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance. Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to maximise profitability. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery. Monitor kitchen operations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant environment. Strong culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and production. Excellent team management abilities with a focus on leadership and motivation. In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Creativity in menu design and an understanding of current culinary trends. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
