Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food, and extensive kitchen experience. Our restaurant is large and fast-paced, hosting a high volume of functions and events -- both big and small -- primarily on-site but occasionally off-site as well. For this reason, we require someone highly organised who has previously managed large functions and event catering with confidence and professionalism.
As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality, and manage daily kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the culinary direction of our establishment while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food production
Oversee all aspects of menu planning, development, and execution in line with restaurant branding and customer preferences
Manage food preparation processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste and optimise costs
Train, mentor, and motivate staff to enhance their skills and performance
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Implement innovative culinary ideas to keep menus fresh and appealing
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Coordinate and manage large-scale functions and events, both on-site and off-site, ensuring smooth execution and high-quality service
Qualifications
Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting with a focus on quality service
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Experience handling large events and function catering
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences

Pay: 31,500.00-40,000.00 per year
