Sadlers Restaurant is located in the beatutiful backdrop of the Heritage Courtyard in Historic City of Wells, opposite the Cathedral off Sadlers Street. We are looking for an experienced Head Chef who is driven, creative and is excited by great food, customer engagement and developing our company.
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and ensuring exceptional food quality. Your leadership will inspire creativity, uphold food safety standards, and foster a collaborative environment that delights our guests. Duties
Lead and supervise the entire kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
Develop innovative menus that align with the restaurant's concept and meet diverse dietary needs
Oversee food production processes, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency
Manage inventory control and food safety protocols to minimize waste and ensure compliance with health regulations
Coordinate catering events and banquet services, delivering exceptional culinary experiences for large groups
Monitor shift management, scheduling staff effectively to meet service demands while maintaining team morale
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment that adheres to safety standards and promotes efficiency
Skills
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining and food presentation
Proven supervising experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
Expertise in banquet operations, catering, and event food service management
Knowledge of dietary requirements and ability to create inclusive menus accommodating various allergies and preferences
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
Excellent inventory management skills to control costs without compromising quality
Deep understanding of food safety practices, handling procedures, and sanitation standards
Skilled in food preparation techniques across diverse cuisines with an emphasis on quality and innovation
Experience in restaurant management including shift oversight, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency
Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation, food industry trends, and culinary innovations
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
