We're a busy hotel and restaurant located in Whitstable, offering a high standard of cuisine and service. Alongside catering for our esteemed guests, we host a variety of events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private parties. We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic
Head Chef
to lead our talented kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operation and high standards of food quality and presentation at all times.
Oversee food preparation, ensuring consistency, safety, and hygiene in line with company policies and industry standards.
Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and cost-effectively.
Develop and innovate seasonal menus, tailored to both our business clients and private event guests (weddings, parties, etc.).
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, motivating and training team members to reach their full potential.
Monitor kitchen performance, ensuring food is delivered on time and in line with our high-quality standards.
About You:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar high-volume environment (business hotels, events, or fine dining).
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse kitchen team.
Extensive knowledge of menu planning, budgeting, food costing, and stock control.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure, particularly during events and functions.
A passion for food and innovation, with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards (level 2/3 food safety certification preferred).
Ability to adapt to a variety of dietary requirements and special requests for events.
