Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality, and managing kitchen operations efficiently. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities



Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, to ensure smooth daily operations. Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency. Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends. Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies. Monitor stock levels, minimise waste, and control food costs effectively. Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, fostering skill development and team cohesion. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with hygiene standards. Serve as a key point of contact for customer feedback related to food quality and presentation.

Experience



Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting. Extensive culinary experience with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development. Strong background in food safety standards and regulations. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. Previous experience in restaurant management or head chef roles is highly desirable. Knowledge of hospitality operations, including serving practices and customer service principles. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 16.50-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
