The Head Coach 8&U Performance will coach tennis across the programme and assist in the delivery and development of our junior coaching and competition programme.
This is a 28 hour per week permanent role with 21+ hours per week on court across our junior and student programme with time off court throughout the week to assist in the delivery and development of our junior coaching and competition programme.
Opportunity to supplement with 7-830am AM performance sessions (Monday, Wednesday and Friday working with our Head Coach Junior Performance), University of Bristol Tennis Club (UBTC) sessions throughout the week between August - April, 50+ holiday camps throughout the state school holidays, cover and individual lessons (on a self-employed basis).
What will you be doing?

Coaching across the programme (breakdown below) prioritising 8&U session delivery
Increase the number of children aged 8&U on the programme (nursery and schools outreach)
Identification of talented 8&U players on the junior development programme and support their progression on to our junior performance programme (alongside Avon Tennis county squad, regional camp invitations and beyond)
Liaison with parents and parent education introducing them to tennis, our philosophy, standards and competition
Introduce and develop an 8&U specific scheme of learning
Support student coaches with CPD action plans, observations, feedback and mentoring (with a focus on 8&U delivery)
Contribute to the UOB Tennis Leader programme (including annual training, deployment, incentives and pathway support) and mentor junior coaches and assist in their development
Assist in the administration of the junior development programme including customer enquiries and some systems administration responsibilities
Monitor performance of the junior development programme and identify opportunities to further enhance the player experience and expand the programme
Contribute to the design, delivery and development of our junior competition landscape including Competition Weeks, LTA National League, Play Your Way To Wimbledon and UOB Tennis Junior Championships
Contribute to a school's outreach programme that provides an 8&U pipeline into our junior programme (coaching, relationships building and maintenance and conversion into regular participation on our junior programme)
Core coaching timetable:
Monday 4 - 7pm (junior development)
Tuesday 930 - 11am (adult group coaching) and 4 - 7pm (junior performance)
Thursday 930 - 11am (adult group coaching) and 4 - 7pm (junior performance)
Friday 2 - 4pm (BUCS) and 4 - 7pm (junior performance)
Sunday 9 - 12pm (junior development) and 2 - 5pm (BUCS)
The community programme runs over 50 weeks of the year (stopping for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year) and the BUCS programme runs from mid-August to April.
On court the successful candidate will be leading coaching sessions for children, students and adults. The Head Coach 8&U Performance will be responsible for setting up sessions, registering players, leading excellent sessions every time and working with the wider tennis team on the quality of our programme to make sure all our players have the best possible experience and can maximise their potential with us.
