We are seeking a skilled and passionate Head Cook to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and meal preparation, with a keen understanding of food safety practices. As the Head Cook, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.

Duties

Lead and manage the kitchen team in all aspects of food preparation and cooking. Create and develop innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends. Ensure that all meals are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Collaborate with management to plan special events or themed menus as required. Handle any kitchen-related issues or emergencies promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant or similar culinary setting. Strong knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety regulations. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing kitchen staff preferred. A culinary qualification or relevant certification is advantageous but not essential.
