Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Head Cook to lead our kitchen team at The Hollies care home in Garforth. This vital role involves preparing nutritious meals that meet our residents' needs while upholding our values. The role will involve working four shifts per week from 11.30am-17.30pm over a seven day rota.
Responsibilities
Lead food preparation and cooking activities to deliver high-quality meals for residents.
Ensure all food safety standards and hygiene regulations are strictly followed.
Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory control and meal planning.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain a cohesive team.
Collaborate with care staff to accommodate specific dietary requirements.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Develop menus that offer variety and nutritional value.
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles, preferably within healthcare or similar settings.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to plan menus that meet nutritional guidelines.
Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to adapt to residents' dietary needs.
Previous experience in a care home environment is advantageous.
