We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Cook to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and a commitment to food safety and quality. As the Head Cook, you will be responsible for overseeing meal preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, and managing kitchen operations efficiently. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience for our residents through great food quality. You will be cooking for people living with Dementia. You will be require to manage the kitchen when our Kitchen manager is on leave.
Duties
Lead and manage the kitchen team in daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient meal preparation.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock when the Kitchen manager is on leave.
To follow infection control procedures.
To have a good understanding on how to manage allergens.
Experience
Experience as a cook in a care service would be preferred or similar environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
