Award winning Lake District seaside Fish and Chip takeaway and restaurant seeking a seasonal Manager / Head Fryer with on-site accommodation available and an achievable bonus scheme.
An exciting opportunity has become available at our shop in the stunning Lake District right by the sea. The shop benefits from being coastal whilst also having the mountains just a few miles away (you can see them from the shop). The role is to be our Head Fryer and Manager over the 2026 season from mid-April until late September, where the week runs from Wednesday to Sunday meaning you'll always have two days off. The average amount of hours is 46 per week over the season, with the shop being open more in the Summer holidays. There's also accommodation available if required, staff discount, free hire of outdoor adventure kit and a bonus scheme.

Full training will be provided and the successful candidate will be able and expected to carry out the below tasks in the below areas:
Food preparation and cooking to quality standards
Prepare potatoes each day ready for service
Prepare fish (cutting, rotating and storing)
Prepare other food items such as fish cakes, tartare sauce, gravy, mushy peas, curry, pies, seafood, chicken and some other homemade dishes
Checking food for quality at points throughout the service
Filtering cooking oil each day
Health and Hygiene in line with Environment Health and SFBB
Recording Fridge & Freezer Temperatures
Keeping all areas and equipment clean and sanitised
Temperature probing food and recording temperatures
Updating and managing Allergen information
Keeping daily and monthly information sheets
Managing rotation including labelling
Managing stock and orders
Ordering and storing stock
Managing best before dates
Keeping safe and accessible storage
Managing staff and general operations
Manage the Rota and any staff holidays
Supporting and supervising other staff in their roles
Maintaining staff and customer rapport
Reporting into the shop owner
Accommodation:
If accommodation is required, this must be taken throughout the whole of the seasonal contract. This is charged at a reduced rate of 100 per week including all bills and will be deducted from your salary each month. Accommodation is a newly decorated, private, secure double room above the shop with access to a full kitchen and shared shower room. Free car parking is also available just outside the shop.
Bonus scheme:
The bonus is related to google reviews and will be payable at the end of the seasonal contract. This scheme allows you to earn 500 per .1 of a star that is increased. We currently sit at 4.4 so an increase to 4.5 that lasts until the end of the seasonal contract would mean a 500 bonus is payable.
