The

Head Gardener

will be responsible for overseeing the gardens and gardening activities for our group of Holiday Parks. You will be responsible for the development and enhancement of the gardens. This role involves leading a small team of gardeners, planning seasonal planting schemes, ensuring high horticultural standards are maintained, and managing garden projects. The ideal candidate will have horticultural knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.

Role overview

Work collaboratively and communicate with Park Managers, Park Foreman, and the Group Grounds Manager to discuss gardening activities and progress on identified projects. Leading the Garden Teams across all locations and providing advice on all aspects of practical horticulture; managing trees and their care, shrubs, bulbs, plant propagation, turf care pest/disease/weed control and undertaking when appropriate. Develop seasonal work plans and long term garden development strategies maximising resources, environmental impact and presentation. Plan with Marketing Department and carry out garden/environmental activities and events on parks. Promote organic and sustainable gardening practices including wildlife friendly gardening, composting and recycling of green waste.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Head Gardener or in a similar horticulture role, with strong knowledge and leadership skills. Additional training will be provided. Able to produce right to work documentation (e.g. passport or birth certificate & NI document) Able to produce full (preferably clean) valid manual driving licence Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with team members and guests effectively.
