Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Head Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves the care and upkeep of gardens, ensuring that plants thrive and the outdoor spaces are aesthetically pleasing. The Gardener will work with both hand tools and power tools to perform various gardening tasks, contributing to the overall beauty and health of our grounds.

Responsibilities

Maintain gardens by planting, watering, and fertilising plants to promote healthy growth. Maintaining a walled garden Perform irrigation tasks to ensure proper water supply for all garden areas. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for various gardening activities, including pruning, weeding, and mulching. Conduct regular landscape maintenance to keep outdoor areas tidy and attractive. Monitor plant health, identifying any issues such as pests or diseases, and taking appropriate action. Form and managing a team, training, supervision, performance appraisals etc... Providing small scale growing of fruit and veg for the hotels that we operate

Requirements

Proven experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is preferred. Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in gardening tasks. Knowledge of plant care, including irrigation techniques and growing requirements for various species. Strong attention to detail with an ability to maintain high standards of work. Physical fitness is essential as the role involves manual labour and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. A valid driver's licence will be required for transporting equipment or materials as needed.

Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
