About the service:
Willowbrook House is a specialist Mental Health care facility in Corby located near to the characterful old High Street. This purpose-built modern care-home environment provides a high-quality nursing care and long-term rehabilitation for people with severe mental health difficulties, behaviours that challenge including dementia and high dependency nursing needs.
We are currently looking for
a Head Housekeeper
to join our existing team of fantastic mental health experts on a permanent basis at Hawthorne House in Corby.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Organize Day-to-Day Tasks: you will need to manage your daily work tasks efficiently.
Maintain Staffing Rota: Prepare and maintain a 4-week roster to always ensure adequate staffing levels.
Instruct Housekeeping Team: Provide clear instructions to the team regarding their roles and duties.
Independent Work: Carry out duties independently without routine supervision.
Resident Interaction: Regularly consult with residents to meet their needs and preferences. Gather feedback on cleaning and laundry quality.
Supply Management: Order cleaning and laundry consumables from nominated suppliers according to company policies.
Waste Disposal: Dispose of waste materials safely and hygienically.
Toiletry Management: Control the provision and replenishment of toiletries.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records following unit policies and procedures.
Emergency Reporting: Report gas, electric, and water supply faults promptly.
Personnel Interaction: Deal with personnel visiting the site (e.g., contractors).
Staff Training: Conduct staff training, as necessary.
Stock Takes: Ensure stock takes are conducted monthly.
Cleaning Schedules: Implement and maintain cleaning schedules for the entire service.
Health and Safety Compliance: Comply with health and safety regulations, carry out fire alarm tests, and assist with evacuation procedures.
Food Hygiene Compliance: Ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations.
High Cleaning Standards: Ensure cleaning of all areas of the home to the highest standard, including grounds.
Individualized Cleaning: Establish rapport with residents and agree on convenient cleaning times for their personal rooms.
Deep Cleaning: Organize deep cleaning duties when required.
Laundry Management: Oversee laundry collection, return, and storage by the laundry team.
Wardrobe Maintenance: Keep residents' wardrobes and clothing drawers clean.
Invoice Verification: Check deliveries against order forms and address discrepancies promptly.
Effective Supply Use: Safely store and use cleaning and laundry supplies to minimize wastage.
Hygiene Standards: Maintain a high standard of hygiene within the home, following COSSH guidelines.
Cooperation and Communication: Cooperate with requests from the Home Manager and attend resident/relative meetings if requested12.
