We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of our Care Home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a background in hospitality or healthcare services. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of hygiene and resident satisfaction, ensuring that all areas of the care home are impeccably maintained. The Head Housekeeper will lead a team of cleaning staff, coordinate daily cleaning schedules, and uphold the care home's reputation for excellence.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and standards in accordance with Company policies.
Conduct regular inspections of bedrooms, shared areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
Train new staff members on cleaning procedures, health & safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Collaborate with other departments to accommodate special requests and ensure smooth operational flow.
Address resident concerns related to cleanliness promptly and professionally.
Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, training, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
Proven experience in housekeeping management ideally in healthcare services or within the hospitality industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, health & safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
Good communication skills in fluent English.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings as required.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all areas of the Care Home.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to 12.50 per hour
