We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team across our College and Arts and Crafts Centre sites. This role is ideal for someone with experience managing cleaning services, a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.
As Head Housekeeper, you will help ensure that all our spaces are clean, safe and welcoming, enabling us to deliver high-quality services and support to people with sight loss and other disabilities.
Salary: 13.02 per hour / 25,727.52 per annum
Hours per week: 38
Weeks per year: 52
Annual leave: 5 weeks plus 10 days bank holiday
Contract: Permanent
Location: Harrogate and Knaresborough

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with experience working in housekeeping or cleaning, ideally with previous team leadership responsibilities. You should be comfortable managing workloads, monitoring standards and helping your team succeed. A background in a customer-led environment is important, along with good communication skills and a respectful, positive attitude.
Knowledge of hygiene regulations and health and safety is essential. You'll also need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs. Familiarity with working to specific standards, such as National Cleaning Standards or CQC, is desirable.
You must be willing to work flexibly and undertake an enhanced DBS check, including the child barring list. An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, specialist communication methods is also helpful.
