Job Description

The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout The Cottage Nursing Home, Mold. The post holder will manage the housekeeping team, organise cleaning schedules, and ensure full compliance with infection prevention and control procedures, health and safety regulations, and company policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the housekeeping team to ensure all areas of the Home are cleaned and maintained to an exceptional standard. Prepare, implement, and monitor daily and weekly cleaning rotas in line with the needs of the service. Ensure all cleaning duties are carried out in compliance with infection control and COSHH regulations. Conduct regular audits and inspections of rooms, communal areas, and facilities, addressing any shortfalls promptly. Provide ongoing support, training, and guidance to housekeeping staff to maintain consistent quality and compliance. Be fully aware of and adhere to the Home's health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Manage stock control of cleaning supplies, ensuring sufficient levels are maintained and orders are placed as required. Respond promptly and effectively to any cleaning-related emergencies or urgent situations. Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and operational matters. Work flexibly in accordance with duty rotas, including weekends and bank holidays as required. Report faults, damages, or losses of equipment or furnishings to the Manager or maintenance team without delay. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
