Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality, particularly within the hotel sector, and will be responsible for ensuring that all guest areas are impeccably presented. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment for our guests, contributing to their overall experience.

Duties

To comply with all statutory and company regulations relating to the health & safety, hygiene, conduct of employees, fire emergency procedures, security of premises and of property. Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas are cleaned to the highest standards. Manage and train housekeeping staff, providing guidance on best practices and maintaining team morale. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards. Develop and implement cleaning schedules to optimise efficiency and effectiveness. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary. Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. To liaise closely with Human Resources with regards to recruitment and personnel matters. Recruit and on-board new staff members as detailed in the company policy To ensure the correct training and retraining of all staff to sustain company standards of cleanliness. Including detailed training records for all staff. To liaise on a regular basis with the Maintenance Department with regard to room maintenance Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery throughout the hotel. Assist Housekeepers with cleaning duties when required.

Experience

Proven experience in a housekeeping role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Familiarity with cleaning products, techniques, and safety protocols.
