The Addington Golf Club, located outside of Croydon in South London, is seeking a highly skilled, independent, and detail-obsessed Head Mechanic to lead the equipment maintenance operations for the club. This position offers a rare opportunity to assist in the design of a new mechanics workshop and rebuild the operation for the ground up with the full backing and support of club leadership. We are looking for someone who takes extreme pride in their work, is fiercely proactive, and can own the equipment operation with minimal oversight. You'll have access to a top-tier fleet (new, with significant investment), the authority to shape the shop layout and tool selection, and the trust to maintain world-class equipment standards.

Job Purpose:
Lead all aspects of the equipment maintenance operation including diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and record keeping
Establish and implement efficient systems and processes for equipment tracking, parts inventory, and tool management
Perform thorough evaluations on current fleet and ensure readiness of new incoming equipment
Maintain the highest standards for cutting units and ensure all reels are dialled in consistently
Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment including diesel/petrol engines, hydraulics, and electronics
Order and manage parts, supplies, and tools with autonomy
Work closely with the Golf Course Manager while maintaining autonomy in all maintenance-related operations
Candidate Traits:
High mechanical aptitude across a range of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
Obsessive about quality and reliability of equipment
Extremely self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
Ability to think creatively and improvise--especially in remote or unpredictable settings
High tolerance for autonomy--this position is ideal for someone who thrives without micromanagement
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of experience as a golf course technician or equipment manager
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong understanding of reel grinding, hydraulic systems, and general engine repair
