About the Role
The Head of Airfield Operations is accountable for delivering a fully effective Airfield Operations Department and maintaining a robust compliant airfield along with procedures that safeguard the aerodrome, in alignment with company standards and aerodrome licensing requirements.
As a key member of the airport management team, they ensure the Airport Operations Department is seamlessly integrated into the wider airport operation. Working closely as part of the airport leadership team, they lead the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the service, including its operational policies, procedures, and workforce strategies.
Key Responsibilities
They oversee all aspects of the Airfield Operations including:
Recruitment and colleague engagement
Financial oversight and asset renewal planning
Training, competence, and performance management
Oversee all aspects of airfield operations, including airside safety, maintenance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Ensure adherence to CAA, ICAO, and EASA regulations, and maintain the highest standards of operational safety.
Lead and develop the airfield operations team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
Manage relationships with airlines, ground handlers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Develop and implement airfield strategies to support growth, sustainability, and resilience.
Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and performance metrics for airfield operations.
The successful Candidate:
You will bring proven experience in airfield or airport operations management, ideally at a senior leadership level, with a deep understanding of aviation regulations and airfield safety standards. As a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, you will demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders effectively. Your ability to make critical decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment, coupled with strong problem-solving and operational delivery expertise, will be key to success in this role.
