Head of Asset Management - Alt Energi

Overview

Alt Energi delivers and operates solar PV projects ranging from 50 kW to 50 MW across commercial, industrial, and utility-scale sectors.

We act as asset manager and operator on behalf of asset owners, ensuring their assets are operated safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual, regulatory, and performance expectations.

We are seeking a

Head of Asset Management

to lead the technical and operational management of a portfolio of

client-owned solar PV assets

.

The role is responsible for maximising asset performance, availability, and safety within agreed mandates, while leading and developing Alt Energi's Operations & Maintenance (O&M) function.

This is a senior leadership role combining

technical authority, operational excellence, and asset-owner representation

.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Performance & Technical Management

Be accountable for the technical performance, availability, and safe operation of client-owned solar PV assets under management. Monitor generation, availability, and system performance against contractual targets and energy yield expectations. Lead fault analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective action planning. Identify technical, operational, and lifecycle risks and implement mitigation strategies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise asset performance and reliability.

Operations & Maintenance Leadership

Lead and develop the O&M function, including internal engineers and external service providers. Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programmes across the portfolio. Define, monitor, and improve operational KPIs, response times, and service standards. Ensure efficient planning, execution, and cost control of operational activities. Manage O&M contracts and service provider performance in line with client agreements.

Technical Authority & Governance

Act as Alt Energi's senior technical authority for operational assets within agreed asset management mandates. Provide expert oversight of modules, inverters, monitoring systems, grid interfaces, and balance of plant. Manage defects, warranty claims, and manufacturer engagements. Ensure operational lessons learned are captured and fed back into project delivery and design teams.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the senior technical and operational interface for asset owners. Provide clear, accurate performance reporting and technical insight to support client decision-making. Support asset owners with performance optimisation strategies, remediation planning, and lifecycle considerations. Engage with third-party stakeholders including grid operators, insurers, auditors, and lenders as required.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across the portfolio. Promote and embed a strong safety culture within internal teams and contractors. Lead technical incident investigations and corrective action processes. Support audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.

Experience & Skills

Essential

Extensive technical knowledge of solar PV systems and operational performance. Proven experience leading a solar O&M or asset management function. Strong understanding of PV performance modelling, degradation, and common fault modes. Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and third-party contractors. Ability to balance technical performance, cost control, and risk management.

Desirable

Experience managing portfolios ranging from small commercial systems to multi-MW assets. Knowledge of grid and DNO operational requirements. Relevant engineering or technical qualification. Experience working with investor-owned or fund-owned renewable assets.
