We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Business Development - Civilian.
You'll play a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding The MTC's Civilian Sector market share. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic, results focused Head of Business development with a proven track record of success in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
This position will suit an individual with strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as a deep understanding of the industry and competitive landscape.
You'll be responsible for leading, inspiring, and developing a team of fifteen people.
You'll manage key stakeholder relationships both externally and internally, including working closely with the Managing Director, Civilian, and Director of Business Development.
Main responsibilities will include.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of business development professionals. Foster a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Revenue Growth:
Drive initiatives to achieve sales targets through new client acquisition, upselling, and cross-selling. Oversee the development of proposals and pitches to secure new business.
Performance Metrics:
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development activities. Use data to make informed decisions and adjust strategies accordingly.
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aimed at expanding the company's footprint and revenue. Identify and evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth areas.
This position will suit an experienced Head of Business Development, with a wealth of experience in the Civilian Industry sectors - prime contractors and / or their supply chain
You'll have strong leadership skills, lead by example and have a passion for developing people.
We're looking for somebody with
Proven track record of significantly contributing to business growth and profitability - management and delivery of multi-million-pound pipelines of innovative research and development.
Experience of leading and developing high performing teams and encourages teamwork and collaboration.
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Analytical skills to interpret market data and translate into actionable strategies.
Entrepreneurial Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Collaborative Works effectively across departments and with external partners
Resilient Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable
Experienced practitioner and advocacy of Miller-Heiman is desirable.
Bachelor's degree in a Business or Engineering related subject. An MBA or similar advanced degree is highly desirable.
