To provide leadership to service staff, ensuring clear communication of the ICSU values, vision, priorities and expectations to ensure the engagement of teams to deliver service of the highest quality. To ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and effective services in line with CQC/Ofsted and other national requirements; taking immediate remedial action where gaps or inconsistencies are found. To establish a strong learning culture across the service through peer review, regular feedback and frequent visible leadership with front-line staff. To manage the operating budget effectively, remain within the allocate resources for the financial year, including budget setting, projections and management across sub specialities.
Exercising delegated authority the post holder will provide leadership to resolve day-to-day management issues within the Borough. To hold service leads, team leaders and lead clinicians to account for delivery of their objectives through regular performance review meetings. Ensuring sufficient data quality within the borough to monitor and track performance and to satisfy reporting requirements To investigate complaints as appropriate under the procedure and ensure action is taken to address issues of concern and prevent reoccurrence of similar events. Ensure that environmental standards are appropriate for safe & clean care delivery.
Managing the Workforce:
To lead, manage, motivate and develop staff characterised by high standards and openness ensuring that the perspective of clinical and other staff are heard and valued. To ensure that the ICSU has in place effective arrangements for staff appraisal, training and development To ensure that staff management arrangements are consistent with HR policies and procedures within the Trust and to ensure that good practice in recruitment, appraisal, performance management and other policies are maintained. To continually review the workforce to ensure that it reflects the service plans and priorities, implementing skill mix review, role redesign and changes to working practices as required. To develop links with universities and other training institutes to grow the future workforce and develop new skills in the existing workforce.
To support the recruitment and development of staff who reflect the diversity of the local population. Strategy, Change Management and Service Improvement: Contribute to the development and delivery of ICB and Place based strategy and transformation and support To work with Leaders within Whittington Health CYP ISCU and across NCL to improve access to assessment, co-production and effective and equitable delivery of interventions. Lead and support change management programmes with respect to time, budget and quality targets, ensuring successful implementation.
