About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as the leader of the Capital Model Validation and Risk Analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will have overall accountability for the independent validation of our Internal Models and the integrity of our capital management and risk analytics capabilities. You will set strategy, lead and develop a high-performing technical team, and ensure that our models and risk frameworks are robust, compliant, and add measurable business value.
As the head of function, you will engage with executive management, the Board, and regulators, providing authoritative advice and strategic challenge. You will be responsible for the direction and quality of technical reviews, regulatory deliverables, and risk management oversight, while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
About the Department & Team:
The Capital Model Validation and Risk Analytics function is central to the integrity of Global Risk Solutions' capital modelling, regulatory compliance, and risk insights across our Luxembourg and Lloyd's legal entities. We work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders in Actuarial, Finance, and Risk, providing deep challenge, technical oversight, and strategic input on our capital and risk frameworks in line with Solvency II and Solvency UK.
Key Responsibilities:Define the strategic vision and annual plan for model validation and risk analytics, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and business objectives.
Provide leadership and direction for the independent validation and critical review of Internal Models across all major legal entities (including LMAL and LMIE), guaranteeing compliance with Solvency II and Solvency UK.
Oversee the design and execution of deep technical investigations into model methodology, governance, calibration and parameterization.
Own the production and delivery of high-impact validation reports, ORSA documentation, stress and scenario testing and Board-level presentations.
Advise and influence senior stakeholders - including Board members, executive committees, and regulators - translating complex technical findings into strategic recommendations.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with Actuarial, Finance and Risk to strengthen capital and risk management frameworks and deliver enterprise-level improvements.
Build, mentor, and inspire a team of analysts and actuaries, fostering a culture of challenge, technical excellence and continuous development.
Monitor, interpret and proactively respond to evolving regulatory standards, industry trends and best practices; continually enhance validation frameworks and reporting processes.

Skills and Experience:
Qualified actuary (e.g. FIA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in model validation, capital modelling or related disciplines.
Significant track record of leadership in risk analytics or actuarial validation within the London Market or a comparable regulated environment.
Deep technical expertise in Internal Model methodology, Solvency II/UK and model governance best practices.
Proven ability to design and oversee complex technical reviews, distill key issues and deliver influential recommendations at Board and executive level.
Outstanding communicator, adept at building relationships and credibility with senior leaders, committees and regulatory bodies.
Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
Advanced proficiency with capital modelling systems (e.g. Igloo) and analytical platforms.
Commitment to continuous improvement and regulatory excellence.
