The role involves the strategic and operational leadership of Sunfield's social care and therapeutic services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care that promotes the physical, emotional, behavioural, sensory, and spiritual development of each child and young person in our care.
In this role you will be responsible to:
Lead and inspire Sunfield's residential care teams to deliver high-quality, child-centred care, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, creating an environment where our children and young people feel secure, valued, and empowered to thrive
Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of organisational policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current legislation, best practice, and the home's Statement of Purpose whilst maintaining alignment with Ofsted's expectations for high-quality, child-centred care, contributing to achieving and maintaining an 'Outstanding' judgement
Actively participate in the referrals and transitions process, ensuring smooth and well-planned admissions and discharges in collaboration with the Referrals and Transitions Team
Manage the staffing budget, with robust administrative controls and timely reporting to finance.
Lead recruitment and staffing matters, including grievance, disciplinary, and health and safety, in partnership with HR and in line with safer recruitment principles
Ensure regulatory compliance with all statutory standards and requirements
To be considered for this role you will:
Meet the 'fitness' requirements as defined in Regulation 28 of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 with a minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Have proven experience of leading and developing teams to deliver high-quality care within a children's residential setting
Demonstrate experience of leading an Ofsted-inspection within residential childcare provision.
Have experience of working with children and young people with complex needs, including SEND, trauma, or behavioural challenges
Exhibit a high level of emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
