This is a hybrid role and depending where you are based you will require to come into one of our distribution centres 2 days a week in either Hemel, Dublin, Basingstoke, Darlington or Heywood. Some travel to London will also be required.

Position Summary:
The Head of Circularity will be responsible for the Category Management function of Full Circle Waste as well as the development and implementation of the Circularity Program. This role is pivotal and plays a key leadership part in developing and implementing strategies to minimise waste, maximise resource recovery, and drive a closed-loop economic system. The role will deliver on strategies that will drive out cost, simplify execution, enhance reputation and ensure compliance to regulation.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Vendor Selection & Management
Lead out on the RFP process for new vendors, ensuring selected vendors meet all required compliance and reporting requirements
Ensure full visibility of waste contracts, capture of WTN's and end destination
Support central management of waste through management of a 'goods account' and network pricing mechanism
Leveraging scale to deliver cost effective waste solutions for Franchisee's
Development of KPIs to monitor vendor performance and ensure maximum service offering and accurate billing / pricing
Ensures full collaboration with McDonald's on waste management strategy and provides consistent updates / reporting on activity
Drive greater visibility of carbon footprint across the category
Waste Stream Execution and Restaurant Support
Lead the Circularity & Value cross-functional team to ensure program alignment and integration.
Develop and execute the UK&IE Circularity Program, including setting goals, innovating, defining project scope, overseeing project teams, and managing timelines
Design and implement efficient recycling systems to optimise resource recovery (commodity handling and trading), minimise waste generation, and identify opportunities for reverse logistics.
Remains current with waste landscape and innovations relevant to system material flow
Establish robust data governance and management practices to track program progress, measure impact, and generate insightful reports.
Provide insight on waste valuation to maximise waste revenues and minimise costs.
Drive stakeholder engagement by raising awareness of the program's benefits and securing buy-in from internal and external partners
Insights, Reporting & Legislation
Provide intelligence on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policies and ensure the Circularity Program supports compliance for Martin Brower and its customers.
Monitor industry trends in circularity and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Understand the waste data collected to drive change and contextualise the information
Technical Competencies
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in sustainability, waste management, or a related field and 2+ years of management experience
In-depth understanding of waste valuation methodologies and recycling systems.
Strong knowledge of data governance principles and experience with data management tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Ability to identify teams to move forward work collaboratively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Passion for sustainability and a strong desire to make a positive impact.
