About this role:
As part of FPS, this role will lead, support, guide, develop and advise a team of Senior Client Accountants/Finance Managers, to provide a standout service to our external key clients, within any of the brands that form part of the FPS Group.
The focus of the team must be to always provide excellent customer and client service, and to meet deadlines by whatever means, using all resources available.
The role will also be pivotal in assisting with the implementation of systems and procedures (as agreed by management) to enable the smooth and efficient handling of all the department processes and ensure all deadlines are met.

Director of Service Charge Accounting
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Production of year-end service charge and RMC/Freeholder statutory accounts, client financial reporting, Section 20b notices, service charge budgets, cashflow forecasting, and financial integration.
Ensuring the above is completed within agreed timeframes with the client and the business.
Assist with the development of procedures and controls to improve the responsiveness, efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of all outputs of the department.
Promote the department as a key business partner to the property management team.
Be a direct line of contact for clients and understand the client's financial requirements to ensure expected service levels are met.
Maintain high standards of clear and accurate communication to internal and external parties.
Attend client meetings whether via video/phone call, or face to face, inside and outside of core working hours.
Liaise with internal departments to be able to answer all financial queries raised by the client on any aspect of the accounting of client funds.
Work closely with external and internal business partners to maintain a consistently high standard of service to clients, and to meet deadlines.
Set controls and checks to safeguard transactions and ensure a high level of accuracy.
Ensure all client accounting is carried out in line with current legislation, regulations and best practice.
Bring the client accounting of new sites in line with any of the FPS brands, way of working.
Create meaningful SLA's and KPI's, and drive team performance to meet set targets.
Provide reporting on production and performance to the business and senior managers.
Provide a high level of customer service to clients and colleagues, ensuring that the business can respond quickly and accurately to all client and lessee queries and provide accurate reporting on the management of their records.
With the support of internal resources and external providers, look for efficiencies with the use of systems and applications.
Provide training and development to the team members.
Manage, mentor and motivate the team to produce required results.
Carry out performance review plans when required.
Carry out annual appraisals and monthly one to ones, with direct-line reports.
Must have skills/experience:
At least 7 years' experience within finance.
Previous experience working with external clients.
Fully or part qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA, fully qualified AAT, or QBE.
Sound knowledge of service charge accounts and relevant legislation/guidance.
Experience of working within a residential block management environment.
Minimum 5 years' experience of managing/mentoring a team.
Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
Use of Microsoft packages, including Word, Advanced Excel and Outlook.
Exceptional organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
An effective team player.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
A "can do" and "right first time" attitude.
Desirable skills/experience:
Experience of using QUBE system.
