As The Telegraph continues its shift to a subscriptions-first, digital-first model, commercial data is critical to driving growth across Advertising, Partnerships, Commerce, and Syndication. The Head of Commercial Data will be the key expert and advocate for commercial data, leading our data-led ad proposition, The Telegraph One, and empowering sales teams with the insight and strategy needed for success.Youxe2x80x99ll work closely with commercial leadership to uncover and deliver data-driven opportunities that improve product development, audience engagement, and revenue performance. This includes enhancing existing data products and spearheading innovation in new capabilities that set us apart in the market.This role is vital in championing a data-first mindset, both internally and with external partners, to ensure The Telegraph leads in delivering impactful, insight-led commercial solutions.Key Responsibilities

  • Work with both the Senior Director, Digital Solutions and Director, Commercial Strategic Growth to identify, develop and grow our commercial data capabilities
  • Provide hands on support, training and marketing material relating to The Telegraph One product suite as well as support the digital sales team with client and agency pitches
  • Ensure our data products are best in market and executed inline with our overall company strategy
  • Keep aware of compliance and regulatory changes across the industry level as it relates to The Telegraph and its initiatives
  • Work with key stakeholders across the CCO SLT as well as wider product delivery teams within technology and editorial to ensure that initiatives are in line with stakeholder expectations and The Telegraphxe2x80x99s strategy
  • Present or support on compelling business cases for priority initiatives incorporating relevant data such as market intel, customer insight, editorial and product roadmaps, and knowledge of existing commercial successes and gaps
  • To keep abreast of our publisher peer groupxe2x80x99s data and audience product initiatives and make recommendations to the Director, Commercial Growth, providing insights, risk analyses, and innovative solutions
  • Manage key 3rd party relationships including but not limited to Permutive, Infosum and DoubleVerifty
  • Build new relationships with key data partners in order to enhance The Telegraphxe2x80x99s data offering and optimise for revenue and yield growth
  • Represent TMG in the industry on panels, presenting, and in the trade press as required
Requirements
  • Experience in a commercial data-led role at a major media owner
  • Experience of executing and delivery key data products
  • Knowledge and understanding of how data is used across the programmatic echo-system
  • Experience of working alongside sales team and face-to-face clients meetings
  • Results driven, commercial and numerate. Successful track record of financial management, driving revenue growth and hitting revenue targets
  • Evidence of being innovative and creative in regard to data strategy
  • Demonstrates high integrity and emotional intelligence, able to lead, influence, persuade
  • Exceptional collaboration skills. Strong capability to translate ideas to different stakeholders and bring everyone on the journey
  • Proven track record of working proactively with internal departments with differing objectives and KPIs, and understanding other viewpoints, in order to deliver the best for the business
  • Commercial background in digital advertising, partnerships or commerce; proven data and audience experience; keen understanding of relevant technology terminology and processes
  • Excellent track record working with external partners, ability to develop new partnerships with external businesses, and to grow existing ones
