Salary: 79,638.

Location: Oxfordshire.

Working pattern: Onsite working expected for 3 days per week, with flexibility actively supported.

This role requires completion of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks, including Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and a potential search of open source data.

The Role



Join the team and use your expertise in communication to help shape the future of energy.

As Head of Communications, you will lead the strategy and delivery of communications to support the organisation's mission in delivering complex and impactful scientific work. You will offer expert advice, strategic leadership, and ensure engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, fostering trust, understanding, and advocacy for the organisation's initiatives.

Operating in a complex, technical environment, you will develop clear, compelling communication strategies, advise on best practices across all communications, and manage reputational risks. You will also build and lead a high-performing communications team, supporting both internal and external communications through a comprehensive, multi-channel strategy.

This role includes collaborating closely with senior leadership and government stakeholders to align communications with organisational goals and ensure compliance with government standards and best practice guidance.

Qualifications



Degree or equivalent experience in a communication-related field.

Proven senior communications or public affairs experience, ideally within a government, scientific, or similarly technical environment.

Ability to engage effectively with technical teams and translate complex topics for diverse audiences.
