We are seeking to recruit a Head of Compliance who has a passion for excellence to join us. You will provide management and operational oversight of the firm's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to all relevant legal and regulatory standards including development of new and existing procedures and policy and leading the compliance team. Acting as deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (DMLRO) ensuring systems in place to detect and prevent financial crime.



As a qualified solicitor, (ideally with a conveyancing background or experience working in this area) the role holder will also provide expert guidance on regulatory and professional conduct matters to external clients/businesses in a fee earning capacity.



OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



include (but not limited to):


Adviser to the partnership and senior management (SLT) on compliance matters, regulations and risks. Guide the development of and ensure appropriate and regular compliance education and training for all colleagues, maintaining a strong compliance culture across the firm. Ensure money laundering systems and controls are robust and effective as well as delivering AML training. Liaise with regulatory bodies on money laundering issues including liaison with the MLRO and reporting to the National Crime Agency (NCA) ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Data protection and GDPR knowledge highly desirable.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS


Essential:




Qualified solicitor with a strong compliance or regulatory background Conveyancing background an advantage Strong analytical, investigative and problem solving mindset. Able to lead and influence with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders when necessary. Exceptional communication skills and high levels of integrity, resilience and professional judgment balancing regulatory compliance with commercial and client service considerations.
