About the role

Our projects are more than just your opportunity to make your mark. They're an opportunity to stretch, test and develop your expertise. Join our

Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick

team as

Head of Cost Engineering

on the

Sizewell C Project.

Sizewell C

will create a 3.2 gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for at least 60 years. It will be built next to Sizewell B which began operating in 1995 and has so far avoided more than 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions.

This role will be hybrid with one to two days per week at our Bristol (Aztec West) offices.

What you'll be doing

Cost Management: Develop and manage the project's cost baseline from

the early stages, ensuring accurate tracking of all project expenditures,

forecasting future costs, and maintaining financial discipline throughout

the project lifecycle.
Change Management: Establish and lead robust change management

processes, including the identification, assessment, documentation, and

approval of all project changes. Ensure that all changes are effectively

communicated and that their impacts on cost, schedule, and quality are

fully understood and managed.
Contract Administration. Work closely with project teams to develop a comprehensive cost and change baseline that serves as the foundation for all future performance tracking, forecasting, and reporting. As the programme progresses, build, manage, and mentor a high-performing cost and change management team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the team. Collaborate with project teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to integrate cost and change management

processes with broader project controls and project management activities.
Identify, analyse, and mitigate financial risks that could impact the project's cost and schedule. Implement risk management strategies to address potential cost overruns and schedule delays and potential contract and change-related challenges. Generate regular reports on cost and change management activities, status, and compliance for project management and stakeholders, ensuring visibility into financial performance and change impacts. Establish clear and effective communication channels with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure transparency in cost management and change control processes. Work closely with the commercial and contract management teams to ensure that contractual obligations are met and that any variations or claims are managed in line with established cost and change controls. Utilise data analysis and forecasting tools to provide accurate financial forecasts and to inform decision-making around cost and change impacts. Collaborate with IT teams to implement and integrate digital tools and systems that support efficient cost management and change control processes. These accountabilities are not an exhaustive list of the responsibilities and

activities that the job holder may be required to undertake.
