We're looking for an IT Head of Data to establish and lead our group-wide data strategy, architecture, and governance. This isn't just about managing systems; it's about building the trusted, secure, and scalable foundation that will empower our business to unlock immense value from its data.



A critical part of this role is your partnership with our Head of Operational Data Strategy. By working closely together, you'll ensure a coordinated approach to data management that avoids duplication and strengthens data maturity across the entire Group. You will also act as the IT champion for data governance, providing the frameworks and platforms needed to ensure data integrity and security while partnering with business teams to embed a culture of data ownership.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?



To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:



Required Knowledge and Work Experience

Essential

Significant background in data architecture, integration, or enterprise information management, ideally within a global setting. A deep understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) and their application. Proven expertise in key data domains, including data modeling, master data, and enterprise integration. Knowledge of regulatory requirements like GDPR, retention, and security. Exceptional collaboration skills and a knack for managing stakeholders, effectively bridging the gap between IT and the wider business. Experience championing the importance of secure, governed, and well- architectured data foundations across IT.

Desirable Skills

Hands-on experience implementing enterprise data platforms (warehouses, data lakes, catalogues, MDM). Familiarity with BI/reporting ecosystems and the data they consume. Experience partnering with business data leaders to successfully drive data adoption and maturity.




This role may involve travel to both UK and overseas sites.
