We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Data and Analytics to join our team based at our Redhill office on a hybrid contract.



The UK&I Head of Data and Analytics will play a key role leading the UK data team in setting and driving the strategic data ambition whilst having accountability for data topics in ongoing transformation programmes and BAU data priorities.


The role will also represent UK&I's interests working with the Global design team to specify new reporting capabilities that deliver incremental business value using richer data from the new transactional systems

What you'll be doing:



Sustain a BAU Data & Reporting capability, delivering an effective and responsive Reporting & MI Service to information customers across all business functions. Own, and drive the overall ecosystem of Data/Reporting aligning resource needs, risks & priorities for how to deploy our contractor relationships & build internal capability aligned Own, develop and implement UK&I data strategy/vision and roadmap to evolve AXA Partners data maturity, culture and capability growth Sponsor and direct a phased project to define, design and implement the migration of data management, reporting and MI services from the legacy UK data warehouse to the global target datalake/powerBI architecture Removing all reliance on the legacy local transaction systems for Motor and Home by July 2024 and enabling the decommissioning of the UK legacy data platforms in 2025 Ensure that all business and systems transformation projects take due account of data and reporting requirements, aligning target solutions with the global data & reporting TOM/ architecture and securing appropriate funding to ensure a smooth transition/ implementation of reporting products and services. Establish and operate local data governance structures and processes in accordance with the principles of the global Data Office's strategy, ensuring that local implementation of the global TOM is pragmatic, cost-effective and serves UK regulatory and business requirements. Represent UK & Ireland interests in Regional and Global Data Office / Data Strategy / Data Governance fora and activities Liaise with Local and Global AXA data security and governance authorities to ensure compliance with relevant security, privacy and retention policies for UK &I data within reporting repositories, tools, products and services; responsible for notification, escalation and resolution of related risks, issues or breaches Lead and promote the introduction of information-led decision making across business functions, e.g. through the provision of data assets, reporting/query/modelling tools, information services and education to apply data analytics techniques and thinking Promote and enable technical development and career advancement for data and information professionals in the business, leveraging the resources of the global Data office to refresh role descriptions, provide learning pathways/resources and encourage participation in relevant professional communities




What you'll bring:



Experience of managing data teams and working with Programme Management teams Experience of leading the business reporting team in a major transformation programme, using a modern reporting platform in both an analytical and development capacity; Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail and accuracy, including reviewing and assuring the work of teams, peers and colleagues Knowledge and experience of reporting solution design including Azure platforms, Pegasus, Attunity, Wax, R, SQL, Python, Spark, Power BI, Business Objects Understanding of data lake technologies, interrogation of structures and unstructured data, data warehouse and data schema design for optimised reporting performance Data analysis and synthesis of complex and wide ranging business, and some technical based-information Experience of technology and operating model transformation programmes preferred Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS project Experience in engagement with multiple management levels across technical users and business units; Strong problem solving skills Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel; Ability to assimilate and interpret large volumes of information;
