Nuveen is expanding internationally. Historically the international platform was run independently from the US platform. There is a major initiative to coalesce the capabilities of both organisations to create a new global platform to support business growth in the international region as well as a focus on Cloud.

In addition the business is growing Internationally with increasing M&A activity requiring integration of these businesses.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Delivery and Integration professional with expertise in delivery, managing budgets, and overseeing IT operations within the context of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) projects. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of IT services within budget constraints during M&A projects, overseeing the integration of IT systems, and driving operational efficiency.

The role is the pivot point between internal, external and Group teams. It combines architectural and operational responsibilities. The role holder is responsible for providing effective global IT design and assurance across all aspects of the international infrastructure and will be working within a team of IT specialists. The role will be responsible for shaping and running the future IT platform and be responsible for managing M&A activities.

The position has exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities. The environment is mostly Microsoft / Windows based, Citrix and Cisco. Communication with relevant resolver groups to provide second and third level technical support globally is required.

There is a requirement for occasional travel/ working on an international basis.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Lead and coordinate the IT aspects of M&A projects related to service delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the IT infrastructure, systems, and applications of both the acquiring and target companies. Develop integration plans, execute migrations, and ensure the successful integration of IT service delivery processes.
  • IT Infrastructure integration: Manage the integration of IT infrastructure and systems during M&A projects. Collaborate with technical teams to assess compatibility, identify gaps, and implement solutions for integrating networks, servers, storage, and other infrastructure components. Ensure seamless integration of IT service delivery processes while managing costs effectively.
  • IT Due Diligence: Participate in IT due diligence activities to evaluate the IT capabilities and risks of potential acquisition targets. Assess the compatibility of IT systems, infrastructure, and applications. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with project teams to develop IT project plans and schedules within the context of M&A projects. Define project deliverables, milestones, and success criteria. Monitor project progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Applications and DR: Provide technical expertise and support for business-critical applications. Collaborate with application development teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of applications.
  • IT Service Management (ITSM) and Governance: Adhere to IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and frameworks within the organization. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as data privacy and security requirements. Implement controls and monitoring mechanisms to mitigate risks and maintain a secure IT environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, finance teams, and IT teams, to understand their service delivery requirements and budgetary constraints. Manage stakeholder communication and ensure their satisfaction with the delivered IT services within budgetary boundaries.
  • Service Improvement: Identify opportunities for service improvement and cost optimization. Analyze performance data and IT service delivery metrics across platforms to identify areas for efficiency gains and cost reductions. Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency, quality, and value of IT service delivery within budgetary constraints.
  • IT Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for IT operations within the context of M&A projects. Work closely with finance teams to establish budgetary guidelines, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation. Monitor and control IT project costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Group management: Manage relationships with cross functional teams internal and stakeholders.
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
  • Strong Citrix experience
  • Strong experience of Cloud environments particularly AWS and Azure
  • Strong experience of AD and IAM
  • Demonstrable academic record and industry qualifications
  • Good understanding of network technologies and design
  • Good knowledge of technical monitoring tools
Competencies Required
  • Qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in IT operations, architecture and design ideally within a Financial Services environment.
  • Project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects within the context of M&A.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and networks.
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership abilities and the capability to guide and motivate a team.
  • Experience of budgets and controlling costs.
  • Experience working with multiple global teams across multiple markets to implement modern technologies.
  • Experience in delivering projects where the solutions themselves are both off-the-shelf solutions and where custom applications have been built out.
  • Experience of preparing presentations and updates for senior leadership.
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic work environment connecting teams together to delivery business value.
