The Role
We're looking for a Head of Design to build, scale, and lead our design organisation. You will be the most senior design leader at the company, responsible for setting the vision, raising the bar for craft and execution, and building a world-class design team. This is a player coach role: you'll remain hands-on with design work where needed, while also hiring, mentoring, and developing designers and, in time, design managers.
As a senior leader, you will shape not only how we design products but also how design influences company strategy. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business leadership to create seamless, customer-first experiences that fuel growth.
What you'll do
Define the vision, principles, and standards for design across the company
Lead, coach, and grow a team of designers, and eventually design managers, across product areas
Balance hands-on design work with leadership and team development
Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set strategy, align roadmaps, and ensure design is embedded throughout the product lifecycle
Establish and maintain design systems, workflows, and processes that scale with the business
Champion user research and customer insights as a foundation for product decisions
Represent design at the leadership level, ensuring design has a strong voice in company strategy
Foster a culture of creativity, craft excellence, and collaboration across teams
What you'll bring
8+ years of experience in product design, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
Proven ability to lead design teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments
Experience scaling a design organisation, including hiring
A strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design, systems thinking, and impact at scale
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to advocate for design at the executive level
Comfort balancing hands-on design with leadership responsibilities
