Job Description



The Head of Developer Services Growth will lead the strategic development and management of our developer ecosystem and marketplace initiatives. This senior leadership role focuses on building world-class developer experiences, expanding marketplace partnerships, and fostering a thriving third-party developer community that enhances our platform's value proposition across global markets.




This position is ideal for a visionary leader who can bridge technical and business domains, excel in external relationship management, and drive the growth of developer-centric products and services. The Head will work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and legal teams to ensure seamless developer onboarding, marketplace expansion, and sustainable ecosystem growth.




This is a hybrid role - three days per week in our Newcastle office.


Key Responsibilities

In this role you'll:




- Own the end-to-end strategy and execution for developer experience initiatives, including API programs, SDKs, documentation, and developer tools


- Lead marketplace strategy and operations, managing relationships with major app stores, partner marketplaces, and distribution channels


- Identify, evaluate, and recruit high-potential third-party developers, ISVs, and technology partners to expand our ecosystem


- Build and maintain strong executive relationships with key marketplace partners, platform providers, and developer community leaders


- Develop comprehensive developer onboarding programs, including technical documentation, tutorials, sample code, and certification processes


- Collaborate with regional teams to localise developer programs and marketplace strategies across different geographies


- Establish and monitor key performance metrics for developer adoption, marketplace performance, and third-party integration success


- Lead developer community engagement through events, hackathons, conferences, and online forums


- Provide strategic input on platform roadmap decisions that impact developer experience and marketplace capabilities


- Act as the primary external spokesperson for our developer program at industry events and with media


- Drive internal alignment across engineering, product, and business teams to prioritise developer-focused initiatives




What you'll bring:




- Experience in developer relations, marketplace management, or platform partnerships--preferably in a SaaS, platform, or technology company environment


- Proven track record of building and scaling developer ecosystems, app marketplaces, or third-party partner programs


- Deep understanding of API design, developer tools, and the technical needs of software development communities


- Demonstrated experience managing complex external relationships with marketplace partners, platform providers, and developer communities


- Strong commercial acumen with experience in partnership negotiations, revenue sharing models, and marketplace economics


- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders


- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, comfortable engaging with technical and business audiences at all levels


- Strong understanding of API architectures, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML), and integration patterns


- Familiarity with developer tools ecosystem (GitHub, CI/CD, testing frameworks, documentation platforms)


- Knowledge of marketplace technologies, app distribution platforms, and partner integration systems


- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern software development practices
