We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring and dynamic Head of Drama to join the Performing and Creative Arts Faculty at Saint Felix School and lead our Drama department.


The successful candidate should be able to lead the department and also teach Drama across the whole age and ability range, From Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. The post holder will be expected to take part in the future development of the subject both within the curriculum and the extra-curricular programme.


Drama is a popular and highly valued subject at GCSE where pupils study the OCR course and A Level where students follow the Pearson A Level Course.


Saint Felix School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for students aged from 2 to 18, located close to the glorious seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk coast. Our aim is to develop well-rounded students with the skills and the personality to make a success of their lives during and after their school years.

The Performing and Creative Arts faculty are a vibrant, forward-thinking department. We have high expectations and provide suitable challenges. Learning takes place in an environment of mutual respect between teachers and learners where the School Values and Learner Profile provide a clear foundation. We also aim to give pupils the confidence to make appropriate use of ICT facilities to support their learning.


We are looking for a Head of Drama teacher who will be able to;

Lead the vision for the Drama department at Saint Felix. Deliver exciting and inspiring Drama lessons across the Senior School. The ideal candidate will have ability to teach GCSE and A Level Drama. Actively develop, run and support the co-curricular programme at Saint Felix. Work with pupils of all ability and encourage pupils to develop and reach their potential in Drama. Work across the wider school to promote Drama and the extra curricular benefits of the subject.



This position would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT looking for their first teaching position. As a smaller school with a community culture, you will soon appreciate the warmth and sense of friendliness that embodies the institution.
