The Department

Economics is one of the strongest and most popular subjects in the Sixth Form. In recent years the uptake of the subject has increased significantly and our results at A Level are consistently excellent. Aside from achieving exam success, the department aims to inspire students throughout the school about Economics and its applications in daily life. It also strives to provide all pupils with the best possible opportunities to fulfil their potential.
A number of activities are run outside the classroom including competitions such as The London Institute of Banking & Finance Student Investor Challenge, the Tycoon Enterprise Competition, as well as the Royal Economic Societys essay competition.
A number of successfully students apply each year to study Economics at university, including Oxford and Cambridge. The department offers students one-to-one support to prepare them for university applications and interviews, and provides a range of opportunities for independent research and learning. This year, a student received an offer from the University of Cambridge.

From strong uptake at A Level, to outstanding results and superb Oxbridge success, the department is in Rude Health.
