Head of Engineering - Power & Energy Solutions (Private Wire, CHP & C&I Projects)

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of Engineering to lead the delivery of innovative power solutions across Private Wire, Combined Heat & Power (CHP), and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) projects.
About the Role
As Head of Engineering, you will oversee the full technical lifecycle of complex energy infrastructure projects - from concept and design through to delivery and operation. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving technical excellence across a growing portfolio of low-carbon and high-efficiency power projects.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for all engineering activities across power, CHP, private wire, and C&I projects.
• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team with strong focus on safety, quality, and innovation.
• Oversee design development, feasibility, and front-end engineering for new projects.
• Manage stakeholder engagement, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with electrical, mechanical, and energy industry standards and legislation.
• Support business development with technical input for bids, tenders, and proposals.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice in project execution.

About You

• Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
• Strong track record of leading engineering teams in power generation, distributed energy, or industrial energy systems.
• Experience delivering private wire networks, CHP, or embedded generation projects.
• In-depth understanding of grid connections, power systems, and energy regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
