Job Description

Located on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Furness College is the largest FE College in Cumbria offering an extensive range of courses with a particular emphasis on technical learning, apprenticeships and Higher Education, in addition to the broadest A' level offer in Cumbria. Head of Faculty





We are seeking a Head of Faculty (HOF) to join the college management team, the ideal candidate will provide inspirational leadership and management to all staff within Engineering, Construction and Motor Vehicle, ensuring a high quality experience with outstanding outcomes for students.



The HOF will have a critical role to play working with colleagues across the organisation, developing strategies to develop, attract, recruit and retain students in line with corporate objectives. The HOF will play a key role in developing the curriculum to ensure our offer is attractive to future students and meets the skills needs of the local and regional area.



Responsible for a large team, the suitable candidate will be a proven people manager with the ability to delegate and lead deputies being a critical part of the role. It is essential that applicants have a passion for education, want to make a difference and can contribute to meeting the strategic vision and values of the college.



Salary:

49,688 - 54,237 (pro rata dependent on start date)


Hours:

35 hours per week


Tenure:

Fixed term until June 2026


Annual Leave:

35 days plus bank holiday and up to 5 days Christmas closure (pro rata for fixed term/part time)
