We are a dynamic property & hospitality business based in South Devon, operating a portfolio of premium properties and guest experiences. Leveraging a ground-breaking model, launched in 2021, and with a strong reputation for quality, service, and growth, we are now entering an exciting new scale-up phase, with expansion across and beyond the South West. To help lead this we are seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance to strengthen financial leadership, enhance performance visibility, and help drive sustainable profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Management Accounting:
Deliver accurate monthly management accounts and board reports; ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, and statutory obligations.
Financial Systems:
Develop and maintain efficient financial controls, processes, and systems.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts; monitor performance against targets and recommend corrective actions.
Strategic Analysis:
Provide insights and scenario planning to support growth and investment decisions.
Revenue Management:
Work with the property team to optimise pricing strategies for maximum occupancy and yield; analyse booking trends and market data.
Cash & Compliance:
Oversee cash management, owner payments, payroll, insurance, and fleet management; ensure accuracy and transparency.
Technology & KPIs:
Inform software development to improve service quality; own KPI reporting to track progress against targets.
What Success Looks Like
Timely, accurate financial reporting and board packs.
Forecast accuracy and improved profitability (EBITDA margin).
Strong revenue performance: occupancy rates, ADR growth.
Reliable cash flow and compliance with all statutory obligations.
100% accurate and on-time payroll and owner settlements.
Skills & Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent senior finance experience.
3-5+ years in a senior finance role, ideally within hospitality or property management.
Strong commercial and analytical skills, with hands-on experience in revenue and cash management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing abilities.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting platforms (e.g., Xero).

What We Offer
Salary: 50,000-60,000 per year (depending on experience)
