Job Summary:



We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our nursing homes.

As the

Head of Finance

, you will be a vital part of our Finance Team, overseeing a broad range of accounting, payroll, and administrative functions. You will ensure accurate and timely financial record keeping, payroll processing, and contribute to efficient financial planning, compliance and supporting the overall financial health of the business.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Accounts & Financial Management



Assist with monthly management accounts and end-of-year audit preparation. Maintain accurate financial records across our group of nursing and care homes. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and healthcare regulations. Manage cash postings, allocations, and bank reconciliations. Monitor debtor and creditor payments to ensure up-to-date balances.

Payroll Management



Collate and process payroll data including staff hours. Manage end-to-end payroll duties, including pension contributions. Prepare monthly payroll summary reports. Ensure accuracy and timely processing of all staff payments.

Financial Record Keeping:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for our group of nursing homes. Record and reconcile all transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant healthcare regulations. Oversee payroll processing for employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:



Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections. Review and approve invoices from suppliers, service providers, and contractors. Monitor patient billing processes and resolve billing discrepancies, working with the home staff as needed.

Collaboration & Communication:



Liaise with senior management and other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations. Assist in financial planning and decision-making by providing regular updates and reports on financial performance.

Staff Supervision:



Supervise accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure efficient workflow and accuracy. Conduct performance evaluations and help foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications & Experience:



ACCA qualified. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll. Proficiency with Xero accounting software. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong understanding of accounting principles, healthcare billing, and financial regulations. Understanding of healthcare billing and sector-specific financial regulations. Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
