We have an exciting, 6 month fixed-term opportunity for a Head of Finance Operations to join our London office (EC2Y 5AU).
Barnett Waddingham has been acquired by Howden, an ambitious acquisitive fast-growing PE backed Group and this role is an exceptional opportunity to lead our Finance Operations during a period of change and improvement. The Head of Finance Operations will be responsible for leading the Finance Operations team; optimising our financial processes, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving continuous improvement. This role is a leadership role which requires a strategic thinker with a background in financial operations, accounting and, ideally, systems implementation.
Snapshot of your day:

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial accounting and cashflow management
• Manage and mentor a high-performing finance operations team
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management, and regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting standards
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to support strategic financial decision-making and liaise with the auditors and Howden Group reporting
• Lead process automation initiatives and optimise finance systems for efficiency and drive continuous improvement and best practices in financial operations.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
• Conduct risk assessments and implement internal controls.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

• ACA, or CIMA, or equivalent finance qualification
• Proven track record in financial control/ finance operations leadership, preferably in professional services or Financial services
• Experience in financial systems implementation and automation
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
• Ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
• An audit background would be useful but not essential
• Knowledge of ERP systems is essential
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and roll up your sleeves with hands-on duties if necessary
• Excellent Excel skills
