Start required for a Head of Gas & Renewables for an award winning, domestic heating company based in Rosyth. We specialise in the servicing, repairs and installation of gas boilers for customers in Fife and Central Scotland.

We are now looking for an experienced manager to run our current gas team, manage our work on the Warmer Homes contract, while also helping us continue growing the domestic side of the business and setting up the renewable side (Solar PV & Heat Pumps) which we are currently working on our MCS for. Currently, you will be responsible for our install team of 8, any further additions that you will hire and any subcontractors we need.

Growing the renewables with be a challenging but rewarding part of the job which you will be responsible for and growing our team to work on this, after you have helped our team through the MCS. There is support for all aspects of your role.

Hours of work 40hr / week, (8:00 - 4:30pm)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: 40,000 - 50,000 per year depending on experience

Experience:

Current or Previous Gas Safe (Essential) Experience in the Gas Industry (Essential) Experience managing staff (Preferred) Experience in renewables (Preferred) Understanding of MCS/PAS accreditations (Preferred)
Expected start date: ASAP

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the gas department, including distribution, maintenance, and safety protocols
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise gas production and ensure efficient delivery to customers
- Monitor gas inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate supply
- Manage a team of 8 gas engineers and provide guidance and support as needed
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate gas-related projects and initiatives
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate records of gas production, consumption, and distribution

- Survey potential installations and work with office to provide fixed price quotes

- Hire/fire new engineers when required

- Manage contract work on Warmer Homes contract for full gas heating installations

Experience:
- The ideal candidate will be Gas Safe or will have previously held it
- Proven experience in the gas industry, with a strong understanding of gas contracts, processes and equipment
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to gas operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities
