As Head of Pricing at NFU Mutual, you'll drive the team to deliver great customer outcomes and embed a culture that thrives on customer experience, innovation, and continuous improvement. In this senior leadership role, you will contribute to the direction and operation of the General Insurance Business. Promote and facilitate the implementation of NFU Mutual Group strategy, philosophy, and guiding principles to achieve desired market position and long-term objectives. You will build and maintain influential relationships with the pricing leadership community, business stakeholders and strategic partners, suppliers to ensure effective delivery of the long-term business objectives.



We are seeking a senior dynamic individual, currently operating at Director level to lead our strategic pricing function. You will have a proven track record at Director level and will have extensive experience of creating, monitoring, and reviewing a sustainable Pricing Strategy that ensures the cost-effective delivery of commercial and personal lines pricing. This strategy will align with our long-term objectives and market conditions. Additionally, the role involves directing the development and delivery of a robust Pricing infrastructure, incorporating technology, data, people, performance, and decision support tools. Knowledge and experience of developing an infrastructure that will enable NFU Mutual to compete effectively in current and future target markets and channels.



Reporting into the Customer Services Director, you will play a significant part in the Customer Services Executive team supporting delivery of business-critical programmes, service delivery and financial performance, you will be accountable for development and growth whilst managing within risk and governance frameworks. The ultimate aim is to drive customer outcomes and even in a fast paced or highly technical environment you instinctively put customers first.

Certification





This role is subject to certification. Certification applies to key roles within the organisation that meet set criteria defined by our regulators.



Certification is an internal process undertaken in line with regulatory requirements that is to be in place on appointment and annually thereafter.

About you

An experienced senior leader with Director level experience and a strong customer focus, you can confidently develop and lead a Pricing strategy with drive, precision, and collaboration. Comfortable to step into a role with autonomy from day one. You're a visionary leader with best practice experience and the ability to enable the business to make informed choices about customer and commercial strategies.



This is a highly regulated environment, and the role is governed by the certification regime you will have operated in this role previously and will have an in-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in the insurance sector.



To join our team in this role, you must also be able to demonstrate the following:



Pricing expertise with a deep understanding of pricing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills to support data-driven decision-making.
Strong understanding of business principles and the impact of pricing on profitability.
Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement long-term pricing strategies aligned with business objectives.
Analyse market trends, competitor pricing, customer demand, and other relevant data to identify pricing opportunities.
Work closely with other division and departments of NFU Mutual to ensure pricing strategies are integrated and effective.
Exceptional leadership and coaching abilities, with a track record of developing high-performing Pricing teams.
Experience of driving change, innovation and influencing direction within a senior leadership role.
Management of boards and committees at an executive level.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of engaging senior management and stakeholders.
In depth understanding of the insurance industry and market dynamics relevant to the role.
Ability to identify and solve complex pricing challenges.
Experience of having operated under the Certificated Regime in the Insurance industry.
