Gleddoch, one of the most prestigious hotel, golf and spa resorts are looking for and experienced Head of Golf & Estates to join our existing fabulous team. We are located in Langbank with stunning views across the River Clyde. Our course was opened in 1975 and has hosted many championships over the years. It is a great all-weather course, and its fantastic drainage makes it capable of withstanding the elements without having to close.

The successful candidate will be responsible for general management and maintenance of the full hotel estate including our 18-hole championship golf course, driving range, practice facility and all other outdoor areas. This role requires effective leadership skills, good knowledge of turf management and the ability to successfully manage a team of greenkeepers and demonstrate exemplary leadership and commitment.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and driven to produce quality surfaces all year round with an up-to-date knowledge of modern greenkeeping techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the maintenance of our stunning golf course ensuring our course is in the best condition including turf maintenance, drainage, irrigation and any other necessary tasks. Lead and manage the maintenance of our estate which include gardening, landscaping and property maintenance Lead and engage the greenkeeping team to ensure a high level of work performance Maintain a fleet of machinery - Mechanical knowledge would be useful To ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance. To communicate effectively with the General Manager, senior management, greenkeepers and other members of our team To continually be aware of developments and improvements in golf course management and maintenance To be fully aware of the golf departmental budget, managing financial spend and payroll budgets and identify and justify variances providing information to support decision-making Ensuring a positive experience for our members, golfers and hotel guests.
To be considered for the role of Head of Golf & Estates you should have relevant experience in golf course management, turf knowledge with relevant qualifications and certification. This is essential for this role. You must have previous golf course management or advance deputy role experience.
