Head of GSC Content and Channels

This role can be based at GSK House, UK or Wavre, Belgium.

The new Head of GSC (Global Supply Chain) Content and Channels role is a truly exciting opportunity for to join GSK\xe2\x80\x99s Communications & Government Affairs team reporting into the VP, GSC, CGA.

The primary purpose of this role is to create and execute a strategic communications plan and editorial calendar, aligned to business priorities. It will lead a team of content creators and channel experts in the creation of highly creative and impactful communications and campaigns, acting as editor in chief of the newsflow through global channels, with a focus on measurement and insights to continually improving the quality, impact, consistency and pace of content.

This is a senior level role requiring a good level of business understanding, a high level of credibility, and strong interpersonal skills in supporting the implementation of communications initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with multiple senior level business partners and comms colleagues across the company. The role will line manage 4-5 direct reports.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the design, planning and delivery of strategic internal communications plans across traditional and digital channels, aligned to Global Supply Chain leadership team (GSCLT) and comms lead team (CGALT) priorities.
  • Deliver strategic communications campaigns and engaging content (including articles, Workplace posts, townhalls, global broadcasts, video briefs etc) to build understanding and confidence in our current and future success, facilitating adaptation and localisation where appropriate.
  • Create and coordinate an aligned global content calendar of progress updates, proof points on how we are delivering and other engaging stories of success to maximise engagement.
  • Partner across the GSC global team, Internal Engagement and site comms \xe2\x80\x93 to source and create digital content and campaigns aligned with the global content calendar.
  • Act as point of contact for GSC Leaders to ensure we tell our story and show progress in priority areas of innovation, performance, technology and sustainability.
  • Lead editing and publishing of newsflow content to global channels \xe2\x80\x93 Workplace, newsletters, intranet and publishing of content to external GSK channels including GSK.com and LinkedIn.
  • Ultimately responsible for the quality, consistency and impact of all content published to global channels.
  • Ensure all corporate content and processes are fully compliant with UK (ABPI) and relevant global regulations.

Why you?

Required qualifications and skills:
  • University Degree
  • Experience in and deep understanding of producing engaging and impactful content & campaigns
  • Deep knowledge of communication channels \xe2\x80\x93 in particular internal channels - and how they can be leveraged to deliver content strategy
  • Experience in creation of content strategy and executional calendars for global, corporate activity
  • First class writing, editing and visual storytelling skills for digital
  • Understanding of the power of imagery and video for digital storytelling.
  • Leadership presence and effective communication skills; confident to engage and influence a variety of audiences, including senior management
Preferred qualifications and skills:
  • Knowledge and experience of applying digital insights to set targets for and constantly improve content and campaigns
  • Pharmaceutical, healthcare or related industry experience
  • Experience of leading teams, with a focus on people development, coaching and mentoring.
  • Knowledge and experience of applying insights to set targets for and constantly improve content and campaigns
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with stakeholders across different functions and across different cultures and countries.
  • Strong project management skills.
