About Us

Middlesex Ltd is a well-established contractor in the construction industry, known for delivering high-quality work across commercial, residential, and industrial projects. As we continue to grow, we're seeking a dedicated Head of Health & Safety to lead our safety strategy and ensure the wellbeing of our teams on site and in the office.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management. You will lead the development and implementation of H&S policies, conduct audits, provide training, and ensure legal compliance across all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement company-wide H&S policies and procedures Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions Keep up to date with current legislation and industry best practice Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and senior management on all H&S matters Champion a culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness across the business

Requirements:

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (essential) Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior H&S role within the construction industry Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation (CDM 2015, etc.) Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to influence at all levels of the business Membership of IOSH (GradIOSH or CMIOSH preferred)
