We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Head of Housekeeping
to lead our housekeeping team and ensure our home is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and safety.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Head of Housekeeping, you will:
Lead, supervise, and motivate the housekeeping and domestic teams to deliver excellent cleaning and hygiene standards throughout the home.
Oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including staff rotas, task allocation, and stock control.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and infection control standards meet regulatory and internal requirements.
Support the recruitment, induction and ongoing training of housekeeping staff.
Manage supplies and inventory, ensuring cost-effective use of cleaning products and equipment.
Work closely with the Home Manager and other department leads to maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Ensure all cleaning practices comply with current health and safety, COSHH, and infection prevention standards.
Promote and safeguard the welfare and rights of all individuals supported by the service.
Experience & Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Previous supervisory or management experience within a housekeeping or cleaning environment (care home or healthcare setting preferred).
Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high standards.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and cooperation.
A proactive and hands-on approach with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
Knowledge of infection control, COSHH regulations, and health & safety compliance.
