As
Head of HR
, you will:
Lead and support an established, multi-site HR team with a coaching and developing mindset
Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on employment law, risk, absence management, and HR compliance
Continuously review, improve, and embed HR policies and practices to position PCG as an employer of choice
Design and deliver a forward-thinking HR strategy aligned with the organisation's growth plans
Oversee complex employee relations matters, including safeguarding and case management
Collaborate with the Heads of Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to deliver an integrated People strategy
Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver practical HR solutions and informed guidance
Lead change management initiatives in line with organisational transformation and scaling
Monitor, analyse, and optimise key HR metrics including retention, absence, and engagement
Oversee the implementation and roll-out of the HRIS system, working closely with L&D and Finance
Drive strategic HR initiatives, including performance frameworks, reward structures, and employee experience
Requirements
We're looking for a
Head of HR
who is:
A strategic thinker who leads with empathy and integrity. You can seamlessly move between board level discussion and on the ground support, your leadership style is hands on, approachable, and pragmatic.
We're looking for someone who brings:
Significant HR leadership experience in the care sector (ideally involving children and young people)
A strong track record of delivering impactful HR strategies and projects
Expertise in managing complex ER cases, including safeguarding and regulatory compliance
In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and its application in practice
Familiarity with care sector regulations, best practice, and workforce challenges
Experience leading dispersed, multi-site HR teams
A CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent)
A resilient and adaptable approach with the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-moving setting
This is a full-time role based on-site at our Head Office in Elkstone (GL53 9PQ), 37.5 hours per week, worked Monday - Friday.
